Privacy Policy

The short version

Akitsu stores what you type into it — tasks, habits, reminders, notes, journal entries, and shopping lists — so it can keep track of your life and follow up with you. To figure out what you mean, your messages are sent to a third-party AI provider. We don't run ads, we don't track you across other sites or apps, and we don't sell your data to anyone. You can delete everything you've stored, at any time, from inside the app.

What we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google — that's how your account is created and identified.

Content you enter. Everything you type into Akitsu — chat messages, tasks, habits, reminders, notes, journal entries, and shopping items — is stored so the app can show it back to you and follow up on it.

Push notification data. If you turn on push notifications, your browser gives us a subscription (an endpoint URL and some keys) so we can send you reminders and nudges. We only get this if you explicitly enable it in Settings.

How we use it

We use what you enter to run the app: showing you your tasks and habits, sending reminders at the right time, and following up the next day. We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't build an advertising profile of you.

Third parties we rely on

Supabase stores your account and content in a database hosted in Mumbai, India (ap-south-1). This is where your tasks, habits, reminders, journal entries, notes, shopping items, and chat history actually live.

An AI provider (currently OpenRouter, routing to GPT-4o-mini).When you send a message, its text is sent to this third-party AI provider so it can figure out what you meant — whether you're creating a reminder, checking off a habit, or just chatting — and to generate Akitsu's reply. This is a necessary part of how the app works: without it, Akitsu can't understand plain-language input at all. The provider processes this text to return a response to us; we don't control their internal retention policies, but we don't send them anything beyond the message content needed to do this.

Neither of these providers is permitted to use your data to serve you ads, and we don't sell or share your data with data brokers or advertisers.

Your controls

Akitsu has a Delete my data setting (Settings → You) that permanently deletes every task, habit, reminder, note, journal entry, and shopping item you've saved. This cannot be undone. Your account and login stay intact, so you can keep using Akitsu afterward, starting fresh.

The same screen also lets you export your data — your journal, or a full export of everything you've stored — as a downloadable file.

If you want your account itself deleted entirely (not just its content), email us at abhinav.akitsu@gmail.com and we'll take care of it.

Security & retention

Your data is stored in Supabase behind row-level security tied to your account, so only you can read or write your own content through the app. We keep your data for as long as your account exists, or until you delete it yourself using the controls above.

Changes to this policy

Akitsu is an early-stage product and this policy may change as the app grows. If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
