Terms of Service

What Akitsu is

Akitsu is a chat-first personal assistant. You type in tasks, habits, notes, journal entries, reminders, and shopping lists in plain language, and it organizes them for you and follows up. It's an early-stage product, built and run by a single developer — treat it accordingly.

Your account

You sign in with Google. You're responsible for keeping your Google account secure — if someone else gets access to it, they get access to your Akitsu account too. You must be old enough to consent to Google's own terms of service to use Akitsu.

Acceptable use

Use Akitsu for its intended purpose — keeping track of your own tasks, habits, and notes. Don't try to abuse, overload, or reverse-engineer the service, and don't use it to store or process content that's illegal or that infringes on someone else's rights.

Your content

Whatever you type into Akitsu — tasks, habits, notes, journal entries, reminders, shopping items, chat messages — is yours. We store it so the app can function; we don't claim ownership of it, and we don't use it for anything beyond running the app for you (see the Privacy Policy for the full detail on how it's processed).

AI-generated responses

Akitsu uses a third-party AI model to understand your messages and generate replies and confirmations. AI output can be wrong — a date can be misread, a habit misclassified, a reply can miss the point. Akitsu is designed to show you the real saved value whenever it confirms something, specifically so you can catch mistakes, but you should still check anything that matters (especially reminder times) rather than assume it's always correct.

Availability

Akitsu is provided as-is, without any guarantee of uptime or availability. As an early-stage product, features may change, break, or be removed as it develops. We'll try not to lose your data, but we don't promise it's impossible.

Ending your use of Akitsu

You can stop using Akitsu at any time. The Delete my datasetting (Settings → You) permanently deletes everything you've stored while keeping your account and login intact. If you'd like your account itself removed entirely, email abhinav.akitsu@gmail.com.

We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that abuse the service or violate these terms.

Limitation of liability

Akitsu is a personal productivity tool, not a substitute for professional advice of any kind, and it isn't designed for anything safety-critical. To the extent the law allows, Akitsu and its developer aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service — for example, a missed reminder causing you to forget something important. Use good judgment for anything time-sensitive or high-stakes.

Changes to these terms

These terms may change as Akitsu develops. If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
